Dumai, Riau (Antarariau.com) - The Dumai administration has implemented a smart city application based on high technology, Vice Mayor of Dumai Eko Suharjo stated here on Monday.
According to Eko, the smart city application is an innovation and breakthrough in managing and running the governance system, which is based on Internet technology, and the application aims at providing optimal public services.
"The smart city application will facilitate people to utilize public services in an effective and efficient manner," Eko added.
He explained that the Dumai administration has established cooperation with its counterpart in Bandung for using the smart city application.
The smart city application was initiated by Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil to help the administration manage the governance system, which is expected to improve the services offered by government officials to meet the people s needs.
"We hope the smart city application will facilitate the people to avail the best services provided by the local government," Eko remarked.
The smart city program has been implemented in Bandung City, West Java, and several cities across the nation. It focuses on providing an effective and efficient platform to help the people avail public services.
Meanwhile, Minister for State Apparatus Reforms Asman Abnur remarked that the smart city concept was in line with the president s instruction to facilitate the people in availing public services.
"All administrations across the nation should utilize the smart city application as it offers a practical means of solving problems and addressing challenges in the governance system," minister added.
