Pekanbaru, Riau (Antarariau.com) - Toyota has a car market share of 31.1 percent in Indonesia with sales reaching 23,400 units in the first 10 months of this year.
"Avanza was dominant contributing 20 percent to the total sales (of Toyota cars) followed by Agya 12 percent, and Calya 11 percent," says Himawan, the regional manager for western Indonesia of Agung Toyota said here on Friday.
Total Toyota car sales are predicted to reach 28,000 unit in the whole of this year, Himawan said in the opening ceremony of Toyota Expo 2017, held here from Nov. 17-19 .
He said the sales target in the three day expo is set at 260 units bringing the total sales toward the end of November to 740 units.
Toyota has continued to dominate the car market in the country. Toyota cars are assembled in the country by PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, partly owned by PT Toyota Astra International, the country's largest automotive company.
