Pekanbaru, Riau, (Antarariau.com) - Police have arrested three Malaysians charged with attempt to smuggle heroine to Indonesia in the sea off Bengkalis, Riau.
The three identified as MN bin MS, AR bin AD, and MA bin AH pretended to be fishermen operating in the Indonesian waters, head of anti narcotics unit of the Bengkalis police Adj. Commissioner Willy Kartamanah said.
The suspects, who were caught on Thursday last week, admitted to have used that method earlier, Willy said here on Tuesday
He said the three were believed to be members of an international syndicate of drug traffickers and cooperated with an agent ML alias Imul in Jangkang, Bengkalis.
"They were arrested on tip from local people," he said.
The police confiscated 4.59 grams of heroine , 1 ounce of methamphetamine and 3.2 gram of marijuana and cash 1,000 ringgit.
The police also detained their speedboat , fishing net and other fishing gears they used to cheat the law .
