Pekanbaru, Riau, (Antarariau.com) - The public prosecutor challenged a decision of the Pekanbaru anti corruption court which acquitted a corruption suspect on Wednesday.

Prosecutor Dicky Zaharuddin demanded a 15-year jail term for Arya Wijaya, who was charged with fictitious credit of Rp35.2 billion from Bank Riau Kepri.

The prosecutor also demanded Arya, the president director of PT Saras Perkasa , to pay a compensation of Rp35.2 billion and a fine of Rp1 billion or an additional jail term of six months.

"This week we will send the dossier to the appeal court," Dicky said here on Wednesday.

Arya received a credit of Rp35.2 billion from the bank with a collateral of Rp100 billion in deposit, but Arya failed to hand over the collateral.

Before he was brought to court, Arya disappeared that police put him in the list of wanted man as a fugitive from justice.

The court, however, found him not guilty and acquitted him of all charges.

Meanwhile, the president of Bank Riau Kepri, Zulkifli Thalib, former head of the Batam branch of the bank Yumadria, and former credit chief Buchari Arrahim, are already serving a 4-year jail term each for involvement in the fictitious credit case.
