BKPM Sets Targets Of Rp75,2 Trillion In Investments In Sumatra

Medan, (Antarariau.com) -- The Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) has set itself an investment target of Rp75.2 trillion for Sumatra this year, BKPM Chief Franky Sibarani said.

"Of the targeted value, the realization of investment in Sumatra in the first quarter of the year has reached Rp21.1 trillion, which includes domestic investment worth Rp8.8 trillion and foreign investment worth US$1 billion," Sibarani stated here on Monday.

The BKPM has set an investment target of Rp519.5 trillion on the national scale this year.

Sabarani was visiting Medan on the occasion of the Regional Investment Potentials Exhibition (GPID) and Regional Investment Forum (RIF) that the BKMP is promoting in cooperation with the North Sumatran provincial government.

It was part of the BKPMs roadshows in the three cities of Medan (North Sumatra), Manado (North Sulawesi) and Mataram (West Nusa Tenggara) to promote its investment target of Rp519.5 trillion in 2015.

The BKPM is organizing the roadshow in three Indonesian cities to attract investors and achieve its investment target of Rp519.5 trillion.

"We are now organizing roadshows in the three cities of Medan (North Sumatra), Manado (North Sulawesi) and Mataram (West Nusa Tenggara)," Sibarani affirmed in a press release received by Antara in Manado on Sunday.

He added that the roadshows were organized to ensure high economic growth and to achieve the investment target. To carry out the program, the BKPM is cooperating with various provincial governments.

During the roadshow, it will conduct the GPID and RIF from May 18 to 22 in the three cities of Medan, Manado and Mataram.

Furthermore, as many as 22 foreign investors are exploring areas of investment in North Sumatra province, which they believe has huge business potential.

Sibarani stated that the investors are from Japan, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, and China, among other nations.
