Pekanbaru, Riau, Aug 24 (Antarariau.com) - State-owned accident insurance company PT Jasa Raharja has extended rotating loans worth Rp450 million to small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) in Riau province since early this year to increase their productivity.
The loans which carried an annual interest of 6 percent were payable in three years time, with each of the small and medium businesses allowed to receive a maximum of Rp25 million, spokesman of PT Jasa Raharja"s branch in Riau province, Azwin Aziz said here on Saturday.
The rotating loans were part of the company"s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, he pointed out.
Most of the small and medium businesses are engaged in home industry, trade, housewares shop and workshop, he said.
"The credits were granted based on their proposals and business viability," he said.
To obtain the loans, PT Jasa Raharja officers surveyed the businesses of the small and medium entrepreneurs to see if their credit proposals met qualifications, he said.
"If their proposals and business viability meet qualifications the credits can be disbursed," he said adding that PT Jasa Raharja planned to extend Rp1 billion in credits to small and medium businesses this year.
