Police Foil Trenggiling Smunggling Attempt

Bengkalis, Riau, April 20 (ANTARA) - Police in Bengkalis district, Riau province, foiled an attempt of smuggling out 113 heads of trenggiling rare animal species to neighboring Malaysia on Monday night. The police foiled the attempt of smuggling out the animal species aboard a boat at 11.30 p.m. in the Bantan Tengah waters thanks to tip-offs from local fishermen, chief of the Bengkalis water police unit Ajunct Commissioner Wilson said on Tuesday. He said the police also arrested the skipper and four crew members of the boat on smuggling charges.
