Bank Riau Has 6,500 ATMs In Malaysia
Pekanbaru, Mar 9 (ANTARA) - Bank Riau has installed 6.500 cash vending machines (ATMs) in Malaysia for transaction services of customers of Riau and Riau Island provinces in the neighboring country, the banks director Erzon said here Tuesday. The ATMs had been installed since the last two years. Bank Riau provided the service under corporate cooperation with other banks under the Malaysian Electronic Payment System. The ATMs are expected to service customers with multiple transactions for medical treatment in Kuala Lumpur, Malaca and Johor, reaching at least 3,000 transactions per monthy worth at least 5,000 ringgits, or Rp12 million per transaction. He also said that Bank Riau was considering to open a branch office in Malaysia, to recollect the money of Riau people in Malaysia considering the potential big foreign exchange loss to Indonesia.
