Irba said according to a decision of the trade minister cooking oil bulk is no longer healthy as it no longer has vitamin A.
He said his office already made known the regulation to oil distributors since March last year.
The regulation is to protect consumers from disease of having high cholesterol level and other diseases, he said.
"The trade directorate already made socialization of the regulation banning the sales of cooking oil in bulk. The government allowed only to sell cooking oil packaging not in plastic bags," he said.
Director General of Domestic Trade Gunaryo said earlier with the imposition of the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), distributors or producers of cooking oil would no longer sell cooking oil in bulk.
