Flood Inundates Residential Areas In Pekanbaru

Pekanbaru, Riau, Oct 8 (ANTARA) - A flood has submerged residential areas located near Siak River bank over the past three days, at a height of up to one's knee.
Pida, a local resident, said here Friday that the water rose and subsided twice in a day. However, no one took refuge to higher ground despite the flood.
"Sometime it subsides, some time raises in a day," she said.
Among residential areas affected by the flood were Palas, Sri Meranti and Meranti Pandak.
